Bam is a historic city located in southeastern Iran. It is known for its ancient citadel, the Bam Citadel, which is one of the largest adobe structures in the world. The city has a rich history that dates back over 2,000 years and was an important center along the ancient Silk Road.

However, Bam gained international attention due to a devastating earthquake that struck the region on December 26, 2003. The earthquake, measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale, resulted in the loss of thousands of lives and caused severe damage to the city and its cultural heritage.

In the aftermath of the earthquake, significant efforts were made to rebuild and restore the city. The Bam Citadel underwent extensive reconstruction, and the restoration work aimed to preserve the historical and cultural significance of the site.

Today, Bam stands as a symbol of resilience and a testament to the human spirit's ability to overcome adversity. It attracts tourists from around the world who come to witness the remarkable restoration efforts and learn about the city's history.
